It's strange how everyone else here used to love Twilight and now doesn't whilst I still do. I'm the opposite with this series. I read CoB once and loved it, then read it again and found it really childish, unoriginal and not so brilliantly written. When I read the second book, this was all so much more true of it than for the first book that I haven't even been able to bring myself to buy the third one yet.

Still, I'm clearly in a minority so I'd be happy to hear why you all like these books so much.

You still like Twilight, Ben? But that's funny what you said about City of Bones because that's kind of what I felt about Twilight. But it was more like I read Twilight ten billion times then read it again and found it to be rubbish. Complete nonsense and shit. Poorly written, unoriginal. The only thing it has going for it is a good story. But we are talking about City of Glass.

I found the book to be WAY too fanfiction-y for me. Tegan is a perfect example for this. She guessed pretty much everything right, excluding the pregnancy. How is it even possible that a whole army of demons cannot manage to kill just ONE of the people Clary loves or cares about (Max really doesn't count..)? I found a lot of flaws in the book; however, I still love the trilogy, namely because of Jace. :p And Clary is hella annoying. She reminds me a lot of Bella but still better than her.

I hate Clary and Bella both, but the difference is that I lovelovelovelovelove Jace and Edward is just...Edward.

The books were predictable, but I didn't think there was much wrong with the writing...except maybe in CoA. I like knowing what's going to happen just as much as not knowing, as long as it's not preposterous or terrible.

I find the writing in the CoB books to be much worse than that of Twilight, but that's just my oppinion.
