Cullen's House

Gabriel drove up the driveway, cautiously. He could hear the vampire family moving around inside, wandering what the vampire and some human could possibly want. Gabriel helped Sav out of the car and started up the walkway. An attractive man with blonde hair and looking very fatherly, stepped out of the house.

"Greetings, how may I help you today?" Doctor Carlisle stepped outside, closing the door. He didn't trust Gabriel and Savannah but he wasn't rude enough to say it.

Gabriel looked at him, sternly. "I think- well, I don't know exactly. We have a problem."

Carlisle's face turned sympathetic as he studied Sav's worried look. "What's happened?"

"We think she's pregant.. and I'm the father," Gabriel finally whispered after a long pause.

Carlisle looked shocked at first but then recomposed himself. "I think you should see something."

It wasn't exactly a pleasant situation that she'd gotten herself into.

Savannah had never wanted to be that girl--the girl she seemed to be becoming right now. In fact, she'd always wanted to be the opposite of that girl. Her emotions were splayed out on her face for everyone to see, but only Gabriel and Carlisle were there to look at her. Worry mixed with disgust and embarrassment as she stood back from the house, waiting for a word of invitation. She didn't speak at all, knowing she'd probably just make an even bigger fool of herself. Carlisle seemed nice enough. Maybe he could actually help them. She took a deep breath, holding it for a few seconds before, finally, a few words escaped her mouth. "What is it?"

Carlisle didn't say anything, as if he was waiting for something, expecting something. Gabriel didn't know what to say or do so he just waited for Carlisle to make the next move. The three of them didn't say anything but then a vampire, around the age of seventeen with golden hair came out of the front door. "Bella will allow it. She's ready." He must be some kind of mind reader.

Silently, the two vampires walked into the house, without saying anything. Gabriel assumed he was supposed to follow.

"This," Doctor Carlisle said, putting his hand fondly on a little child's head, "is Renesmee."

Savannah followed the three vampires into the house, distracted for a moment from her own worries by the question of what was inside. She felt as though she should have expected what she found there, but she didn't see it coming. Not in the slightest.

The little girl standing before her was unquestionably the most adorable child she'd ever seen. She was perfect. The perfect combination of humanity and vampiricism, all wrapped up into one little package. "Is she..." Sav trailed off, not quite able to finish the question.

"Half-vampire, half-human? Yes. She was formed by a vampire and human, Bella and Edward. Of course, Bella is a vampire now, but she was human when she conceived."

Gabriel shook his head in disbelief. "Unbelievable. How is such a thing posssible?"

Carlisle looked at him, strangely. "I pondered the same question, and while there is no logical answer, we have just learned to accept it. Renesmee is one of the best things that has happened to us. To all of us. As far as I can tell, her number of chromosomes have changed just slightly, to be in between human and vampire, creating a new species in the process."

"Unbelievable," Gabriel repeated.

One of the best things that had happened to them.

Suddenly, Savannah's whole perspective on the situation changed. In that instant, it was no longer a predicament but rather a miracle. She was speechless...absolutely speechless. A tentative smile played on her lips and for a few seconds, her imagination went wild with visions of families and children and...love. "I..." She started a sentence, but it went in a completely different direction when something lurched in her stomach. "Think I'm going to be sick." She dashed outside, vomiting into a nearby bush. Lovely. Thankfully, she'd missed the beautiful flowers that lined the edges of the house.

Gabriel sprinted outside and held back her hair.

"Definitely pregnant, I would say," Carlisle said. "Look at her glow, though!" He laughed at the sight of her joyous face. That's when Gabriel noticed it, too.

"You're smiling," Gabriel said, relieved. And upon this realization of her smiling, he was overwhelmed with content and hugged Savannah tightly. "We're going to get through this, Sav. We'll make great parents."

Wiping her mouth and ignoring the disgusting taste that filled her mouth, Savannah's smile grew as Gabriel hugged her. "Right." she said. "Parents." There was still a hint of hesitation in her tone, as if she expected that the worst was yet to come...and that when it did, it would be bad...but she was smiling all the same. She was happy. She was...a mother. Oh shit.

Gabriel noted the off note in the second half of "parents" coming out of Sav's mouth. He could only guess what she was thinking about. "Sav, if you want me to be with you when you tell your parents, I will stand by your side the whole time. I promise." Gabriel turned to Doctor Carlisle then. "Thank you, Doctor. Is there anything else we should worry about?"

"I would like to do regular check-ups on her. Obviously, she can't go to a hospital. They wouldn't know what to make of a baby that arrived in three months time in perfect size."

Parents, parents, parents. Oh, dear God. Her mother would be so...disappointed. She hated that; hated it so much more than anger. Savannah was eighteen, her mother wasn't even twice that...she'd had her oldest daughter early in her senior year of high school. Well, early in what should have been her senior year of high school. But this was different. Maybe she'd understand. What reason could she possibly have to freak out when her teenage daughter told her that she was pregnant and in love with a vampire?

Carlisle's statement, however, echoed in Sav's head and she wasn't sure what to think. Clearly some sort of difference had to exist...but three months? Now that was something that would be difficult to explain to her mom. "Of course. I guess I can't really go to school, can I? Not for long, at least." She was eager to find out as much as possible about this whole phenomenon.

"How do you expect we hide this miraculous three month process then? There's no way we could explain it to her parents or our classmates or people around town," Gabriel stated.

Carlisle pondered, "True, very true. We could say Savannah didn't feel well so you brought her to me today after school where I then diagnosed her with ___mono________ (ooc: I forget what it's called but it is a real form of mono). This form of mono can last up to a full year if not treated. Otherwise, it should only last a couple of months. We could take you in here and your parents could visit occasionaly, which we would just have you lay down on the couch with a ton of blankets over you. When you are pregnant with this baby, you will look sick enough so we won't have to fake that. However, once the baby is born, that is a completely different story..."

"How about," Savannah suggested, her shaky tone steadying out slightly as she finished her statement, "We deal with what to do once the baby is born, well, once the baby is born...and as of now, I have ____mono_______?" It seemed like a realistic enough explanation. She was interested in talking to Bella at some point, because she'd been in this position before. There was so much to do, and so little time in which to do it...from what she'd heard so far, it wouldn't be long before she was sick. Sick enough to convince people she had mono.

ooc: Haha, erm, isn't that exactly what Carlisle just said...?

"So it's settled then," Carlisle said, "if you are staying with us, you may want to meet the rest of the family. Please, come inside."

ooc: yesh...she was just affirming, because i was tired and distracted but i hate posts with no dialog

"Of course." Savannah said, a bit of pink tinging her cheeks. Embarrassment was hardly an appropriate emotion, but she seemed to be experiencing it despite that. She followed Carlisle and Gabriel back into the house, pushing all those terribly distracting, worrisome thoughts out of her head. It was time to meet the Cullens...and she would focus on meeting the Cullens.
